What is a sounding mask?

The simple concept would be that it is a mask + a sound system of a globular flute or “ocarina”. This series of workshops are led by “Ceremonial Pacha” to introduce the Pre-Colombian sound ceramics. In this class on “sounding masks” we will learn basic knowledge about the handling of clay, as well as some clay sculpture techniques, and of course, we will learn about the construction of a globular flute or “ocarina”.

No prior knowledge or experience is needed for this class, so all who are curious and want to explore new creative avenues are welcome.
