Khun Suwan is not only an internationally recognized master designer but one of the most active and vibrant people you will ever meet. Throughout his long and colorful career, he continues to be an inspiration, a kind mentor, and a teacher to many Thai designers and makers in various disciplines and generations. 

We are so grateful to showcase the latest in his creative endeavor and hope you will find countless inspirations in his life and work.

หน้าหนาวปีนี้ คาล์ม วิลเลจ เชิญชวนเที่ยวชมนิทรรศการเก้าอี้ของนักออกแบบระดับตำนานของประเทศไทย สุวรรณ คงขุนเทียน ผู้ซึ่งอุทิศทั้งชีวิตเพื่อการทำงานหัตถกรรมสร้างสรรค์ มีชื่อเสียงเป็นที่ยอมรับในระดับสากล และเป็นอาจารย์ให้กับนักออกแบบ ศิลปิน ช่างฝีมือมากมาย 

เราหวังเป็นอย่างยิ่งว่างานแสดงในครั้งนี้จะสามารถสร้างแรงบันดาลใจกับทุกท่านเหมือนเช่นทุกครั้งที่ผ่านมา

นิทรรศการจัดขึ้นในช่วงเทศกาลงานออกแบบเชียงใหม่ ต้นธันวาคมนี้ไปจนถึงเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ปีหน้า

The master designer Suwan Kongkhunthian in collaboration with Kalm Village, presents a colorful furniture exhibition “Colour Lives”.

Through his 30 years of local and international experience in the crafts and design industry, Suwan has unwavering faith in the endless potential of handicrafts and believes that crafts will continue to live with us humans in a meaningful way, transcending time.

สุวรรณ คงขุนเทียน นักออกแบบชั้นครู ได้ร่วมกับ คาล์ม วิลเลจ นำเสนอเก้าอี้จากฝีมืองานหัตถกรรม ที่มีแง่มุมหลากหลายและไร้ซึ่งขอบเขตในการสรรสร้างงานหัตถกรรมอย่างสร้างสรรค์ "เสมือนการแต่งตัวให้กับเก้าอี้” ที่สีสันได้แต่งแต้มอัตลักษณ์ และเติมเต็มชีวิตให้กับผลงานแต่ละชิ้นให้มีเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตัวขึ้นมา ผ่านประสบการณ์กว่า 30 ปี ของความศรัทธาในการสืบสานงานหัตถกรรมให้สามารถมีชีวิตอยู่ร่วมกับมนุษย์เราต่อไปอย่างมีความหมาย และอยู่เหนือกาลเวลา

About Suwan Kongkhunthian

Suwan Kongkhunthian grew up in Chiang Mai, where he developed a keen appreciation of the traditional culture and craftsmanship that flourish here.

After graduating from Silpakorn University in a Decorative Arts Department in 1970, he worked in Saudi Arabia and Singapore before returning to Thailand to focus on making craft furniture and establishing his renowned brand Yothaka in 1989.

พื้นเพของ สุวรรณ คงขุนเทียน เกิดและเติบโตในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ ซึ่งทำให้เขาได้เรียนรู้ทักษะงานฝีมือและภูมิปัญญาดั้งเดิมมากมาย หลังจบการศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีจากคณะมัณฑนศิลป์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร ในปี 2513 เขาได้เดินทางไปทำงานที่ประเทศซาอุดิอาระเบียและสิงคโปร์เป็นเวลาหลายปี ก่อนตัดสินใจกลับมาประเทศไทยในปี 2532 เพื่อก่อตั้งแบรนด์โยธกา โดยมีจุดมุ่งหมายในการสร้างงานหัตถกรรมไทยให้เป็นที่ยอมรับในระดับโลก
