Keep Kalm,
Keeping
Craft Alive
Kalm wants to create a place that brings people together through the love of art, craft, and culture.
We believe in the ability of art, craft, and culture to educate, engage, inspire and empower.
Kalm Village is an Art, Crafts, and Culture Center in the heart of Old Town Chiang Mai. Through means of architecture, objects, food, archive, workshops, dynamic exhibitions, residency programs, happenings, and conversations, our goal is to empower local wisdom, makers, and communities, through space and contemporary platforms.
“In order to carry on our ancestral wisdom, it has to be practiced all the time
like a river flowing.
The river will still be a river and not be left dry
when the old stream flow on, and the new stream flow in to replace continuously.”
What’s On
At Kalm Village, we celebrate and explore diverse artistic, cultural, and historical subjects where heritage and innovation converse. Our programs, event, and happenings are thoughtfully curated to foster the understanding and appreciation of the arts, crafts, and cultures in various dimensions.

OUR REGULAR
WORKSHOP
Special Event :
Wayang Kulit/Nang Talung Performance
December 7 : Performance & Panel Discussion from 6-8 pm
December 8 : Performance from 7-8 pm
In this groundbreaking premiere, The Wayang Women will weave a tale of female ghosts from Southeast Asian folklore, offering a fresh, feminine perspective on timeless myths. Through the interplay of shadows, sound, and poetry, the performance will explore deep themes of gender, motherhood, resilience, and the exploitation of nature.
Featuring an eclectic mix of talent—including a female puppeteer, DJs, a poet, and traditional instrumentalists from across Southeast Asia—this is an artistic fusion of old and new, where centuries-old traditions meet modern interpretations.

Museum of Makers (MOM)
The Museum of Makers (MOM) is a part of Kalm Village, an Art, Craft, and Culture center in Old Town Chiang Mai, Thailand.
The center is dedicated to all the makers and creators that surround us, who came before and in all of us. The word “mom” or “แม่” in Thai and many Asian cultures, other than signifying the ‘creator’ also has various deep meanings, including a term of endearment and respect.
